BLACK CHILDREN ARE AN ENDANGERED SPECIES
The Radiance Foundation Exposes Abortion’s Impact in Provocative Billboard Campaign
Atlanta, GA (Feb. 4, 2010) – The Radiance Foundation (www.theradiancefoundation.org), in conjunction with Operation Outrage, has launched a statewide billboard campaign called ‘Endangered Species’. The billboards will direct the public to www.TooManyAborted.com in an effort to expose abortion’s devastating impact on the African-American community. In light of Black History Month, this campaign will educate Georgians about an obscured history that has present-day ramifications. The site provides an historical, statistical and analytical context to the issue of abortion, highlighting the racist/eugenic origins of Planned Parenthood and its unaltered course.
The most recent CDC Abortion Surveillance Report (November 2009) reveals that, nationally, induced abortions occur in the African-American community at 3x the rate of those among the white population and over 2x the rate of all other races combined. Fifty-six percent of Georgia’s 31,038 abortions are on black unborn children whereas African-Americans only comprise 30.29% of the state’s population. According to the CDC, the numbers of African-Americans who die due to all of the leading causes of death is lower than the number of deaths of unborn children caused by abortion.
Ryan Bomberger, an adoption advocate and co-founder of The Radiance Foundation, travels across the country and addresses various social issues including abortion. “TooManyAborted.com is the response,” he says, “to the rhetoric of ‘reducing abortions’. Regardless of race, religious and civic community leaders and the general public need to understand the destructive nature of the abortion industry and get outraged by the truth.”
