The National Impact
There were an estimated 1.2 million abortions in 2006 (the last year that full stats are available from the CDC). That means 462,000 black children have been aborted in that year alone. Estimates of 14-18 million aborted black babies, since the legalization of Roe v. Wade, reveal an alarming crisis that has been largely ignored by not only our mainstream media, but by the very black churches that are the foundation of the black community. To put things into an even more sobering perspective, the current U.S. black population is just under 40 million. Although black people make up about 13.4% of the U.S. population, we are responsible for almost 39 percent of all abortions, nationwide.1
Statistically, for every 1.3 live births in the black community, 1 child is aborted. This is not liberation. This is elimination. Black women have abortions at 3x the rate of white women and 2x the rate of all other racial groups combined.2 A 2006 CDC report3 (the most recent year where stats have been collected and assessed) reveals the mortality totals of African-Americans from all causes of deaths, which amounted to 286,581 deaths for African-Americans (excluding any possible hispanic numbers). This includes every possible cause of death such as heart disease, cancer, cerebrovascular diseases, accidents, homicides, suicides, and diabetes. African-American abortions, for that same year, (with CDC’s underreported numbers) were 302,635 (adjusted to 462,000 if rate applied to Guttmacher Institute’s estimated total of 1.2 million abortions in 2006). More deaths are caused by abortion than heart disease, cancer, cerebrovascular diseases, accidents, homicides, suicides and diabetes COMBINED.
Planned Parenthood Federation of America is responsible for our modern-day Birth Control culture and the propaganda that abortion is ‘reproductive freedom’. There is no freedom in the deaths of the innocent. There is no freedom in the mass exodus of fathers. There is no freedom in a community inflicted with rampant STDs, HIV and HPV. There is no freedom in a cycle of poverty that is unbroken and even intensified by abortion. There is no freedom in the heart of a would-be-mother who chooses death because she’s been misinformed that the precious life inside her is all just a clump of cells.
Once upon a time, we were all just a clump of cells that were bought, traded and sold as property. They were wrong then. And they are, 50 million lives later, wrong now.
SIDENOTE: The Guttmacher Institute (GI), a pro-abortion advocacy arm of Planned Parenthood (founded by former Planned Parenthood President Alan Guttmacher)2 is one of two reporting entities that provides abortion statistics nationwide. There is no federal compulsion for any abortion clinic to report to either the GI or the CDC. The CDC funds Planned Parenthood through millions of dollars worth of grants. And the CDC admits that its reporting totals are underreported as there are states that do not report their abortion stats to the CDC (CA, NH, FL and New York City).4. These are, however, the only national stats available. One must be skeptical of any subjective assessments made by GI as they are a pro-abortion organization, active in influencing (and financing) global policies on abortion.
